Apple Cider Vinegar can probably be found in most pantries and it’s an undervalued and underused asset for your skin.

Besides the commonly known health benefits, apple cider vinegar is a natural, inexpensive way to optimize your skin care regimen.

The Mayo Clinic attributes bacteria, clogged skin, dead skin cells and excess oil to being the main culprits of acne.

Apple Cider Vinegar is rich in citric, malic, acetic and amino acid plus it consists of vitamins, minerals and enzymes which are advantageous for your skin.

Wrinkles & Age Spots

Elasticity is a common foe of aging skin and we all go through it! Fortunately for us, apple cider vinegar can be utilized as a face wash, toner and treatment for wrinkles and age spots.

Did you know that apple cider vinegar has alpha hydroxyl acids? In an article about alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs),Healthline shares that AHAs promote the production of collagen in skin “by destroying old collagen fibers to make way for new ones.”

Ladies, it diminishes fine lines and wrinkles and will reveal supple glowing skin.

Keep in mind  that apple cider vinegar is made from apples and contain proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria.

Consider the slew ingredients in some skin care products…Mind-boggling is what it is. Most of us aren’t familiar or adequately informed about the 20-30+ ingredients that are in our face wash, treatment and moisturizing products. Problematic doesn’t begin to cover it!

Whether those ingredients are great for our skin or not requires research. Formaldehyde, you know the stuff used to preserve dead bodies, can be found in some skin care brands. It is usually veiled as DIAZOLIDINYL UREA, IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA  or DMDM HYDANTOIN.

There are brands that we can trust (we’ll go into that another day). However, natural is looking appealing!

Acne & Pimples

If you or someone you know is in a constant battle with acne and pimples then this can be the solution for you. Apple Cider Vinegar has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that aid in clearing up stubborn pimples and acne.

It will maintain clean, oil free and bacteria free skin.

The brand I use is Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.

ACV has been a staple in skincare and health care for ages and you can also reap the benefits of it!

ACV requires further research to apply and use properly. This article is based on my opinion and personal experience with apple cider vinegar.

My experience may not be yours. Please be diligent and practice proper research, dilution and application of the product. We will continue this discussion and talk about at home application in another post.

How has ACV changed your skin? Be sure to share your experience in the comment section.
